"Update: I reduced this to one star for two reasons: 1) Two untrue assertions in his response : That he responded immediately, with immediate action taken (for a policy he sold, fraudulently using my address). 2) The snarky reply: "opening somebody else's mail" - suggesting I did something wrong. The mail was fraud, and I needed the agent's name and policy number to report it. His claim that he reported it "immediately" is untrue - as it directly contradicts his own words (quoted below) - telling me he could not act until the fraudster gives him real information - as if he ever might - and still has not - after years. The claim that the "appropriate department" had "taken immediate action" is untrue as evidenced by the many years this went unresolved - with me still receiving State Farm correspondence for the fraudster within a week of this agent's false claims. Rather than take action, it seems the SOP for this office is to defer responsibility (to the fraudster), blame the victim, and rewrite history. At least that's been my experience. One final note: My address is 60 miles away from this office - with 38 State Farm Agents within 25 miles of my address. Shouldn't a trained insurance agent see this as suspicious? Original Post: This office needs to take fraud more seriously. They provided a policy for a fraud, using my address to lower his rates. I reported it to this office over several years, but I continued to receive State Farm correspondence. When I made a detailed complaint through State Farm's Website, the reply I got was that he could do nothing until they received the correct address - from the fraud that only gives a fake address. This is a catch 22. I'll post the response quote below. Finally, when I contacted MY State Farm Agent, the process of cancelling the fraudster's policy began. Here's verbatim the response I got per above: "Dear Paul We are working on obtaining his proper address. We cannot remove the address without obtaining. As soon as we have the address, we will make the change." I give 3 stars instead of one because the office staff is ALWAYS respectful, so I'm aware that this is an outlier circumstance for which the office responded poorly."
