"I have been with State Farm for many years and have never had any complaints, but TODAY I must recognize the OVER & BEYOND attention and customer care that was provided to me by Serenity Love at my State Farm brokers office. I recently bought a brand new vehicle (2025 Honda CRV) and out of nowhere I had a crack in my windshield. I have no idea how it happened, but because I am very concerned about my vehicle warranty and wanting the repairs done correctly, I reached out to my local office for guidance. Serenity helped me every step of the way and made sure the MY NEEDS and requests were handled with the upmost professionalism and care! I feel heard and appreciated! "After battling through State Farms AI robot, we were transferred to Serenity at their local agent. Serenity is AMAZING omg! Her quote annihilated the other three we got. She made it super simple and much less invasive, she guarded our personal info making sure it wasn’t sold to others. Our rate was based on great coverage to protect all involved should there be an accident. And she gave us her number to contact dicectly with questions or concerns, saves us not fighting AI for extensions to speak with someone. Serenity is AWESOME! Yay State Farm! Promote her or have her cloned!"

"I almost never leave negative reviews. In fact, I have never left anything other than five-star reviews before. But this experience deserves to be shared. I purchased my home in June 2023 and bought homeowner’s insurance through Nick, who was recommended by my realtor. I paid my premiums for nearly three years without any issues. In August 2025, when it was time to renew the policy, Nick called to discuss the renewal. At that time I had just moved from New York to North Carolina and mentioned that I might rent the property out in the future. He said switching to a landlord policy later would be fine and even offered a quote. There was never any clear warning that this could affect my coverage. In mid-December 2025, the house was still not rented when a pipe burst and caused major water damage. I reported the claim immediately on December 16. From Dec 16 to Dec 29, the adjuster never came to inspect the property. I was only asked to fill out a questionnaire, which I completed right away. I tried to be understanding because of the Christmas holiday. The adjuster finally visited on Dec 29, but even after that there was still no clear guidance on what we were supposed to do next. The mitigation company could not proceed with demolition or repairs without approval from State Farm. Both the mitigation company and I repeatedly asked for guidance, whether we should start demolition, hire contractors, or take other steps, but received no response. During this entire time I tried many times to contact Nick, the agent who sold me the policy, hoping he could help move things forward. I could never reached him. His wife, Catrina, called twice and was polite, but there was no real help or progress. The office repeatedly said they would follow up with the adjuster, but nothing happened. From Dec 16 to early February , nearly two months , I repeatedly tried to reach the adjuster and Nick for guidance. I made numerous phone calls and sent more than a dozen emails asking what steps we should take, but received no meaningful response or direction. On February 2, we received a letter denying our claim. Because we were waiting for the insurance company’s guidance, the mitigation company had to run drying equipment for an extended period. The electricity cost alone exceeded $5,000. We are now also being told that the mitigation expenses themselves may not be covered. Because it was extremely difficult to reach Nick by phone, I drove more than 12 hours from North Carolina to Ithaca to speak with him in person at his office. Instead of trying to help resolve the situation, he focused on explaining the company’s position. During the meeting he called the claims department and had them explain the denial to me, repeatedly emphasizing that the policy was a homeowner policy rather than a landlord policy. The conversation felt more like pressure to accept the denial than genuine effort to help a long-time customer who had been paying premiums for years. Ironically, if we had not been waiting for the insurance company’s instructions, we could have hired contractors immediately and likely avoided much of this damage and cost. When selling the policy everything sounded friendly and reassuring. But when a real problem happens, there is no guidance, no support, and no help. Based on this experience, it honestly makes me question whether buying insurance is even worthwhile. When something actually happens, instead of receiving support, you are met with delays, lack of guidance, and efforts to deny the claim. In our case, waiting for the insurance company’s instructions not only failed to help, but actually expanded the damage and increased our losses. That raises a very simple question: what is the point of paying premiums for years if the system is ultimately focused on finding ways to deny claims rather than helping policyholders when they truly need assistance?"
